A Bit of This and That

I've been naughty....oh so naughty! Why? Well... I've done very little stitching the last few days. Last week saw me do a bit and then...Saturday came and we were at the soccer field for middle bug's tournament - only got home after 3 and really did not feel like doing anything! And this feeling has persisted into the week. I've made a small start on DoS 2, so small that I can not, in fact, show you a pic of it! I can. however show you a few other pics of the stuff I did last week :)

I finished up a bit more on my "Alphabet Sampler"

Paul Davenport's Alphabet Sampler
I frogged "Pirate Queen" and made a new start. This time I decided to start right at the top - I figure that this way I can't go wrong...right?

Pirate Queen's new start
And I've been messing with wool

Messing with Wool
I love this wool - it hides all imperfections :) I'm hoping that when I'm eventually done with it that it will be a little coat (or a jersey - haven't decided yet) when I am done.

A few posts back Ruth had asked what I've been reading....well sadly I have to report that even my reading has hit a bit of a wall. I started Wuthering Heights quite a while back and just haven't been that into it - to such a degree that I am not reading at all! I did pick up a Johanna Lindsey novella though - historical romance at it's steamiest :) I needed something light and frothy after the darkness of Wuthering Heights, which I will persevere through and finish - sometime!

Hopefully this weekend will see more stitching done as I am off from work from tomorrow until next Wednesday :)

Have a wonderful day all, and thanks for stopping by!

Take care x x

Tusal Report and a Give-Away :)

Yikes! Another late Tusal Report! But I suppose better late than never....right?

This month's orts includes lots of fluff from the frogged Pirate Queen, but more about that in my next update!

This month's orts

All the orts thus far :)

Tricia, who blogs over at Tricia's Craft Box is having a wonderful give-away - if you're an avid knitter or keen to try your hand at it, then head on over and say hi and enter her give-away :)

As I've yet to put in a stitch on the second part of Dawn of Spring, I'm off to play with Ms Mouse's lovely band sampler :)

Have a wonderful evening all!

A Winner!

Firstly a huge, enormous, and gigantic thanks to you ladies for entering my give-away and helping me celebrate a year of blogging :)

It's taken me about 2 hours to get this post done as my internet connection keeps dropping as I start pressing the number generator thingy! But I managed to get it to work this time and have a winner!

Congrats to Linda who blogs over at Stitchin with my Furbabies :)

Now I'm off to bed! Night all :)

I've been busy!

Yes indeed I have! Very busy! Like a bee busy :)

The in-laws left on Saturday morning and I spent the rest of the long week-end being ..... busy. Did I say that before? LOL

Well what, I hear you ask, have been busy with in my busy-ness? Well..... I've done this....

Starfish Facecloth
Knitted with Elle 100% Bamboo
I found the pattern while blog hopping and have it written down at home - at work now :( Will definitely put the site down in my next post!

Worked on this....
Paul Davenport's Alphabet Learner

And finished this......
"The Other White Meat" by Calico Crossroads
Stitched on 14ct Aida with DMC threads
Not too shabby I think! And in-between all of the above we also took the kids to the theatre to watch a hilarious rendition of Alice in Wonderland :) How's that for busy?

Oh! Oh! Oh! And I forgot to mention that I also watched my crochet DVD and can now make a chain, and also a rather sick version of a double crochet - too sickly looking for a pic but will definitely dazzle you with a gorgeous pic at some stage :)

And now I need to get back to doing what I'm being paid to do :) Have a lovely day folks!

Take care x x

And so ends March...

Well it's a day or so late in the posting I know, but here is an update on the goals I had set for myself at the start of March:

March Goals
  • Finish "Power and Grace" - not quite done!
  • Start Dawn of Spring" SAL - DONE
  • Start my Round Robin for OM  - DONE
  • Complete the letters A-C of Chris Davenport's "Alphabet Learner"  - DONE
  • Watch my "Learning to Crochet" DVD and complete a practise block - not quite done!
As I've already posted pics of the DOS Sampler, this is my "Alphabet Learner" and what I had stitched for my round robin,

Paul Davenport's "Alphabet Learner"
Stitched on 18ct Aida
A Dimensions Kit

Design by Lucie Heaton, Cross Stitch Crazy Issue 140
Stitched on 14ct Aida using recommended DMC threads

I am going to have to carry over my "Power and Grace" and crochet ambitions for another month! 3 out of 5 is not all *that* it??

These past few days have seen me lazy lazy lazy and not stitching at all! MIL, SIL and her hubby are here for a visit and it's the school holidays, so very little stitching taking place!

April Goals
  • Spend a minimum of 10 hours on "Power and Grace" - thanks for the idea of setting time as a goal Ruth!
  • Start DoS part2 - Ms Mouse should be sending it out on the 10th :)
  • Knit something small
  • Watch my "Learning to Crochet" DVD and complete a practise block
  • Complete the letters D-G of Chris Davenport's "Alphabet Learner"
  • Finish "The Other White Meat"
  • Frog "Pirate Queen" and make a new start
Too ambitious? Maybe! Will have to see the end of April won't we :)

There's still 10 days left to enter my give-away, so head on over here and have a peak :)

Take care x x
