Small SAL...and a rather late TUSAL!

Wherever has the month gone?? I could have sworn that we just started August a week ago and I now find myself having completely missed the TUSAL report! This month has seen a rather dismal lack of stitching - cross stitching to be exact. I have been busy with the crazy square as the ribbon in my TUSAL jar will attest to....

For those who wonder about the strange acronym and would love to know more and maybe even join the fun next month, head on over to DaffyCat's blog here and read all about it!!

As said before, there has been minimal cross stitching taking place this month, but I did manage to finish my small :)

I found this cute litte bunny here and decided to finish her off with a bitof lace too - the first time I've used lace on a pillow finish. My finishes are still wayyyy from perfect but I am enjoying practising :)

If you'd like to know more about the Smalls SAL and join the fun next month, then head on over to Heather's blog and read all about it!

Have a great week all!

Take care

Crazy block progress

I've been working on my crazy block (the free online beginner class offered by Kathy Shaw)and finished these .....

I love these woven roses.....working with the silk ribbon is so different to thread work but the results are (I think!) just divine :)

Hope you're all having a lovely week :)

IHSW ......did you?

So did you manage to stitch this weekend? I managed a little.....not quite as much as I wnated to....and not on the piece I had hope to work on (the HAED), but I did a little bit....

I did these ribbon embroidery irises for the crazy quilt block (CQB) class that Kathy Shaw offered

Crazy Quilt Block

I worked on two of the seaside quilt blocks

A rather icky photo sorry! I was in a bit of a rush this morning trying to get the pics taken before darting out of the door to drop my son at school!

Close up of the ship's wheels

I also managed to do some stitching on my Alphabet Learner, and finished the "Question"

Alas not a stitch on HAED - but I guess that I can now spend this week mostly working on it :)

Did you manage to get loads done? Or like me, did you squeeze in a stitch here and there between everything else that you had going on this weekend ?

Have a wonderful week all!

Take care

The postie has dropped off a lovely little envelope :)

Received from CJ

CJ was my partner in the stitchy exchange arranged by Heather and she sent me this lovely ornie, handmade card and the loveliest trims! I can't wait to do something with that lil pom-pom ribbon! How cute is that !?!

Are you "hibernating" this weekend? The IHSW takes place this weekend so if you need an excuse to pick up needle 'n thread then head on over to Joysze's blog to learn more about the IHSW and to sign up for the weekend :)

I'm hoping to spend the weekend on my HAED - between karate, soccer and other what-nots the kids have going on! What will your weekend look like?

Crazy Weekend :) was more of a weekend spent on my crazy quilt block than an actual crazy weekend :D

The weather was nice and chilly and perfect for staying home and doing little - well little outside and about the house I mean, but perfect for getting some stitching done. So I stitched on the seams of my crazy quilt block. This is what it looks like thus far...

I have 2 more seams to finish and then on to the fun - Silk Ribbon Embroidery!!

I did spend some time on eldest's crochet lapghan - really do need to take a pic of it sometime to show you guys!

Dad started dialysis on Friday, and as per Mum and my brother and sisters, he's definitely feeling better as he's grumpier than he's been in a while! :D :D

Hope you all had lovely weekends

Take care

She's got it :)

A little while back I joined an exchange on Heather's blog. I was partnered with Noni, who blogs over at "Fireflies & Cats in the Garden", and while the exchange called for a stitched piece, I couldn't resist adding in a few bits :)

Pin Cushion stichery designed by Jenny of Elefantz

"Make Do" stitchery designed by Jenny of Elefatntz and finished as a needlebook

Tiny fob design stitched 1 x 1 on 32 ct linen

If you've never visited Jenny before, then you really aught to! She is super creative and always has such beautiful designs and great tutorials :)

I'm really glad that Noni liked her little package :)

This week will see me still playing catch up on my Crazy Quilt Block (pics in the next post!) as well as a bit of crochet and the HAED received some attention!

Hope you're all having lovely weeks and that the weekend will be a good one!
